Barry Reynolds Award

Are you or do you know a healthcare professional currently working in an ECT clinic, who has gone beyond the call of duty, or made a profound and lasting impact in the specialty? If so, then we want to hear from you.

NALNECT is pleased to announce that nominations for the Barry Reynolds Award 2026 are now welcome.

The winners will be announced at the NALNECT/ ECTAS Joint forum on Wednesday 10th June 2026.

Barry Reynolds was a much-respected ECT nurse, clinic manager and NALNECT committee member prior to his death in 2017. This award is in Barry’s memory and is made at the annual NALNECT/ ECTAS joint forum to a healthcare professional who has improved the patient experience, implemented change, developed their role or that of others, enhanced knowledge of ECT or otherwise promoted standards, care or understanding.

Individuals are welcome to nominate themselves, or to be nominated by another member of the ECT team, a patient or a carer.

There is a separate Barry Reynolds International Award for any nominations for healthcare professionals working in ECT outside of the UK.

To make a nomination for the Barry Reynolds Award, please download a nomination form below and submit to chair@nalnect.org

Closing date for 2026 submissions is Friday 29th May 2026.
